A Love That Passed

by Augustin de Gallos

I never thought I’d write another poem
Never thought the next would be for you
‘Cos holding my pen is like a curse
And thoughts of love tortures me

Yeah I made mistakes that I regret
Said a lot of things that hurts you bad
Never thought those words would hurt me too
And forgetting you would be hard to do

I lost a love that I searched so long
It passed me without knowing I’ve lost it forever
At first I couldn’t believe not until I realized
Learned that tears are worthless, you won’t ever comeback

Never had the chance to flatter your ears
Tell you poems and praise, not even I love you
Though my love is real, why haven’t I shown it?
You left me without knowing what I truly feel

Oh fool I am to let you go
I looked for more, though I have you
Sorry? A word, I wish I could say
But who’ll hear me? None, but the cross and stone

A love that passed won’t ever come back
Like tears that fell, in eyes can’t return
Words that I have said cannot be unsaid
Like my wounded heart it can never heal
